This course is open to anyone who wishes to learn traditional engraving techniques. Participants gain familiarity with the various instruments and procedures. According to each individual’s curiosity and taste we will select a different matrix (metal, wood, plexiglass etc.) and learn to create an image with the various techniques at our disposal, focusing on diverse etching marks and the visual languages they express.
This course focuses on the inking and cleaning phase. The goal is to provide a deeper understanding of how vital and game-changing this step can be. We experience how many dramatically different images can be created starting from the same exact plate. This is the course that brings the artist closest to the printmakers world.
COLOR, DOUBLE PLATE, ALLA POUPEE
This course is geared towards the understanding of inking and printing with more than one plate and/or color in order to obtain clear and bright images.
POCHOIR AND PAPIER COLLE
This course increases the complexity and potentials of printmaking as it introduces gluing, stenciling, masking etc., directly in the printing phase, thereby creating highly articulated images.
A playful experience with inks, solvents, supports, textures, drawing techniques and inking that produces an image that cannot be manually replicated.
