ART RESIDENCIES

Residencies at Gate44 are the expression of its appreciation for cultural and artistic diversity
along with its sense of belonging to a global artistic community.

Spend time in milan, make a new body of work, learn, experiment, exhibit

Residencies are open to artists from all backgrounds and all levels of expertise in printmaking.

At Gate44 residents will find a creative community of kind people and enjoy a professional printmaking studio equipped for large scale etching, screen printing, relief printing and lithography.

We provide accommodation in a private apartment and 24 hour access to the studio. Artists can also request to be assisted by one of our print or metal masters and book the exhibition space for an end of residency presentation.

Gate44 is located at Via privata Treviso 21, in a multicultural, young and fast growing artistic district of Milan, adjacent to a public park and the Martesana canal, and within walking distance from Nolo. Residencies are a great way to experience a new culture in a dynamic and diversified city such as Milan while producing a body of work. The city’s location also allows for day trips to historical towns such as Venice, Parma, Bologna, Verona, Ferrara, etc.

▶︎ Residencies without Accommodations:

350 € /week (+ VAT) for fully self directed use of space between the hours of 9:30-17:30 daily

900 € /week (+ VAT) for half day (4 hours) assistance by a Gate44 technician between the hours of 9:30-17.30 daily

▶︎ Residencies with Accommodations:

• Basic print studio materials (rollers, squeegees, frames, spatulas, soaps, rags etc) are included. Paper, metal, wood, ink etc can be purchased on-site

• Flat file cabinet and personal storage space

• High speed internet

• Minimum one week & maximum three months duration

• Daily weekday assistance by a printmaker or metalworker

• Courses are available on request

1.200 € /week (+ VAT) for on-site stay in our studio apartment with half day assistance (4 hours) and 24 hour access to the print shop

2.000 € /week (+ VAT) for on-site stay in our studio apartment with full day assistance and 24 hour access to the print shop
